В последние годы значительно возрос интерес к исследованию роли ассоциированных внутриклеточных инфекций в патогенезе воспалительного процесса [4,6,9,14,16]. Особую сложность для диагностики и лечения представляют случаи поливирусной этиологии [1,7,9,11,13]. Полиморфизм офтальмологической симптоматики герпесвирусных поражений органа зрения, отсутствие четких клинических симптомов, патогномоничных для определенного возбудителя, сходство клинических проявлений при воспалении, вызванном различными инфекционными агентами, не позволяет своевременно установить этиологию воспалительного поражения глаз и провести адекватное этиотропное лечение [2,5,8,10,15].

Results: A direct correlation between etiology of the detected antigen or genome of herpes virus in conjunctival scrape and marker of primary intoxication or re–activation of chronic infection in peripheral blood has been established. A connection between peculiarities of clinical picture of mixed ophthalmopathology and etiology of infectious agent revealed in conjunctival scrape was established.

Materials and methods: One hundred and thirty patients suspected of ocular viral infection were examined by using of a complex of modern clinical–laboratory methods. Clinical features of mixed process characterized by a chronic recurrent course with systemic aggravations and remissions (56,9%) as well as a tendency of disease generalization (20%) and bilateralization (41,5%) have been revealed. Results of immune enzyme analysis (ELISA) discovered the statistically reliable titers of IgM and IgG for different versions of clinical course of herpes viral mixed infections. To enhance an efficacy of etiologic diagnosis methods of fluorescent antibodies (FAB) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for investigation of conjunctival scrape were used.

Purpose: Research carried out by the authors was aimed at studying clinical–laboratory peculiarities of an infectious process for herpes viral mixed infections of a vision organ.
